It’s taken a minute to sign but it may change the way we have fashion delivered to us.

100 Percent People have introduced a campaign to get 10,000 signatures for there petition which is going to be sent to fashion houses to prove to them that real woman want to see more realistic body representation in fashion.

dead twitter Is Twitter dead? The other day I was thinking about my use of  Twitter. Often it does appear from my tweets I use it for comments, conversation and saying nutty stuff but I also use it as a way to promote people I believe in, gain new information on subjects and where I can, of course tweet my own updates. Yesterday and today proved the power of twitter to me with two different occurrences.

Firstly, in case you were living under a rock, you can’t of failed to notice how Twitter maxed out yesterday due to all the Superbowl talk. You didn’t have to watch it to feel like you saw it as the tweets were rolling in thick and fast about each teams fight for victory. In fact someone named it Twitterbowl – it was quite something to behold, even if it was annoying that tweets were slow to update or would time out completely. Millions came together to share their thoughts.

Today I was minding my own business (who knew) when Kimmoy, the Curvy Coach, tweeted something about her Read the rest of this entry »

I found the VibroGym!

Yes, they tried to hide  it (hehe) from me but I finally found it at my gym – and was so happy to finally try it out. The VibroGym (vibration plate) apparently gives your body a whole work out, as well as work on circulation, cellulite and a whole host of other things.

I got on and adjusted the settings and BOOM -  I was being vibrated. It doesn’t vibrate you for very long though and I could only really cope with two short blasts on the thing. It made even my throat vibrate which is a very strange feeling indeed. It kind of felt like I was choking for a millisecond.

I probably wouldn’t  use this as my soul item at the gym. I snuck it in between the leg press and the bi/triceps machine. And I’d already been on the bike and running machine before hand.  It says it works best with cardio excersise included.

The vibrogym requires no effort at all – well just the ability to actually keep any food down, possibly. I would recommend you try it if you have it at your gym – just to see. But it does feel like you’re cheating a bit. I mean what the point of exercise if you can’t feel it working? :P Like I said, use it in conjuntion with other equipment.

Let me know if you’ve tried it?

My friend Devyn Ashely, has I already mentioned, is planning to  run this year’s LA marathon. She is planning to give sponsorship money to a charity focusing on giving aide to Haiti.

Devyn is filming a short clips for her Youtube channel every day as she prepares for the big day. Each clip  has typically made me smile.

On day one Devyn and her best friend (who is also running the marathon) Mieko Chic started their training in Starbucks. Yes – it was the contemplation that they are indeed going to run the marathon. There was fear in their eyes, I could tell. :P

Clip two consisted of Devyn weighing herself and in effect realising she had a lot of work to do before she ran. I think it was really brave of her to do the weigh in. I think even if you love your curves there is sometimes a unwillingness to admit exactly how much you weigh. Been there – got the t-shirt.

On day three she was in Starbucks again – looking at boys. HA! Only Devyn could pull looking at boys into her workout regime. See video below.

On day four she is seen reflecting on the fact that she actually doesn’t have a healthy eating plan in place for herself and she’s asking for ideas on what to eat in order to get into shape. Remember folks, the lady doesn’t want to bulk up like Rambo. Often with us plus-size women there is a tendancy to do that when its combined with working out. We need to get the balance just right.

I go for veggies and chicken and reduce the sugar and carb intake. It’s working for me – but then again I’m simply losing weight and getting a healthier lifestyle – not actually running a marathon in less than 50 days.

What will day five bring? Who knows?

Although Devyn seems to be taking this lightly she isn’t. She’s serious, but like all of us who make a decision to do something spectacular she’s going through a process of working it out in stages. I’d worry if I saw her jumping in on day one running around LA before getting her head mentally around the task ahead.

I think you’ll find Devyn’s sweat pants will be going on soon and you’ll see the development of what is sure to be a life changing journey for her.

I think this professional endorsement is a long time overdue but here it is. Not only is it a professional one its also one from the heart.

I first came into contact with Julia K after she joined my myspace page. She loved the music video I was in (Skinny – by Lo-Rider) and we talked about working together one day. I think it may have been two years or possibly more when we did eventually meet face to face for a photohoot in L.A
