The Value of People Who Inspire You

I’m constantly inspired by people around me – whether I know them or not.

Lifestyle changes such as the one I have made recently, require a moment of complete and utter confusion.

I’ve always said; in order to be found you have to be lost.  It’s perfectly okay to be in a space where nothing makes sense and you’re totally confused.

Often in this day and age people stay in that confusion for a long time.  It’s like a little mouse turning in a wheel.  Try as you may, you simply cannot get off that spinning wheel.  You feel exhausted and fed up with life.  Most of all, you feel no one understands your plight.

I’ve had this happen to me in my life.  When my father passed away was probably the darkest time I can think of.  Day in and day out I would be living my life in darkness.  I took the pills the doctor gave me for depression, but even those were a temporary fix, so I soon came off those.

The first step to moving forward is dare to open your eyes to people that are living the life you want to live.

Who inspires you and why?  Write it down.

Viewing these people as lucky or better than you is not the plan.  The plan is to recognise what they have done, and are doing that which makes their lives seem blessed in every sense.

Whilst many turn to religion for comfort, that is not the only route you can go down when you’re in a dark place, or stuck on the wheel of frustration.

You need a jolt from somewhere.  Even if it’s one that says, ‘Why can’t my life be better or like that person I admire?’  It’s the jolt that says loudly,  ”I’M SO SICK OF THIS DAMN WHEEL OF FRUSTRATION.  I WANT TO GET OFF NOW AND MOVE FORWARD.”

The simple truth is – that jolt is staring you in the face.

We all have the power to progress and achieve things we never thought possible.  But the simple and hard truth is,  it will not hand itself to you on a plate.

I look at successful business people who’ve made billions and research their history.  Many of them never finished school with accreditation.  Many were not born with silver spoons in their mouths.  Some have even gone bankrupt before they actually made the bulk of their money.  They must have had dark times too, or times on the wheel of frustration.

I look at people who are always happy. Even when they’re down it’s only in a blink of an eye – never more than a day. Why do they seem so together? Why don’t they let the envelope of darkness close on them completely?

Self Belief

In the last month or so I’ve gained incredible self belief – belief that I can get myself from one place to another.

It’s hard work to trust yourself though, isn’t it?  Especially when there are so many people telling you to trust everything else but yourself.  It’s often easier to shrug and think that what you have right now is all you will ever have.

You are wrong.  But I understand how you feel, because at certain times I have been there too!  It’s so much easier for many of us to admit defeat or put things off until tomorrow.

Self Belief

Self Motivation

Discipline

Willingness to challenge yourself

All these things take hard work and sometimes giving up the beliefs you’ve held so dear.  Or the belief system you’ve had ingrained in you since childhood.

If ever I need that jolt to put the four things above into action.  I look around and see who inspires me.  I note the reasons why they do and what they have about them that I feel inspired by.

THAT IS MY JOLT.

THAT IS A GOOD JOLT FOR ANYONE.

Use that power, instead of being irritated, that someone has more than you or a better life than you.  Most of us have been to that place.  We let it linger until it turns into bitterness or jealousy.  I don’t know about you, but those things never got me anywhere.

Inspiration is everywhere.  Open your eyes now, see it, note it, embrace it, and let it jolt you off that wheel of frustration.

Who inspires you and why?
